Description
The available grid is a scale reproduction (400 V and 100 kVA) of the medium voltage re- ference grid proposed by CIGRE Task Force C06.04.02 Developing Benchmark Models for Integrating Distributed Energy Resources. This grid is featured in technical publications [1]-[3] and is currently under construction though it is expected to be completed in the se- cond half of 2013.
 
The main feature of the microgrid under deve- lopment is that it includes the possibility of controlling power flows and voltages using FACTS devices.
 
Services offered
Once constructed, the microgrid could be used by third parties in order to perform tests and experimental validation on:
  • Power electronics devices used in distributed generation and/or storage.
  • Control algorithms for electronic devices used to integrate renewables, storage, electric ve- hicles, etc.
  • Centralised control algorithms for the distribution grid operator used to improve operation in the presence of renewables and storage.
  • Analysis of the islanded operation of the grid.
 


[1] It is understood that managed power that is able to manage the control of the infrastructure. In laboratories without physical equipment (simulators, systems) This field does not apply.
