Description

The microgrid consists of a 100 kVA power unit. Three 50 kVA convertors in three-phase configuration, with master/slave performance modes. A 75 A power active filter for harmonics compensation. A doubly-fed generator with a nominal power of 15 kW, pulled by a asynchro- nous engine controlled by a converter in which to program the characteristic curves of the wind turbine studied. Three resistive loads with 30 kW power each one. Non-lineal loads (in- vertors for asynchronous motor fed) with a 100 kW power. Benches for reactive energy com- pensation with 20 kVAr power. Kinetic energy storing system based in a 30 krpm flywheel. Two single-phase convertors of 40 Kw each. A 150 kW and 4 kV power supply unit.

Power converters are fully open in electronic and control terms. The electronic is entirely designed by the research team. The converters control is made with DSP’s Texas Instruments and its programming is completely carried out by the research team.

The facilities are currently under extension, including thwo 20 kVA converters with topology.
 
The extension is foreseen to include an energy storing system based in “supercapa- citors” with a capacity of 100 F and 400 V.
